SORTY TERMS OF USE

INTRODUCTION

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Sorty Chrome extension and the sorty.dev dashboard (together, the “Service”), operated by AETRYX LTD (“we”, “us”, “our”), a company registered in Scotland, United Kingdom.

By installing the Sorty extension, creating an account, or using sorty.dev, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. ELIGIBILITY

You must be at least 16 years old to use Sorty. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that any information you provide is accurate.

2. YOUR ACCOUNT

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at support@sorty.dev if you suspect unauthorised access.

3. THE SERVICE

Sorty provides AI-assisted tab organisation, task and note management, focus sessions, and related productivity tools, delivered through a browser extension and a web dashboard. Features available to you depend on your plan (Free or Pro) as described on sorty.dev/pricing.

We may update, add to, or remove features from time to time. We will try to give reasonable notice of material changes that reduce functionality you rely on.

4. PLANS, BILLING, AND CANCELLATION

Sorty offers a Free plan and a paid Pro subscription. Current pricing and included features are listed at sorty.dev/pricing and may change with notice.
Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your chosen payment method for each billing cycle until you cancel.
You can cancel your subscription at any time from Settings → Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, you have a statutory 14-day right to cancel after purchase. Details of how this works with immediate-access digital services, and when refunds are available, are set out in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Nothing in these Terms reduces your statutory consumer rights.
If a free trial is offered, we will clearly state its length and what happens when it ends before you start it.

5. ACCEPTABLE USE

You agree not to:

Use Sorty for any unlawful purpose, or to store, transmit, or process content that is illegal, infringing, or harmful.
Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the extension or dashboard, except as permitted by law.
Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including through excessive automated requests, scraping, or attempts to bypass plan usage limits.
Use the Service to build a competing product using data or outputs obtained through Sorty.
Share your account with others in a way that circumvents per-seat or per-user plan limits.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

6. AI FEATURES AND BETA FEATURES

Sorty’s AI features (chat, tab sorting, summaries) use third-party AI models to process content you submit or that Sorty reads from your open tabs at your request. AI-generated output may occasionally be inaccurate or incomplete — use judgment before relying on it for important decisions. See our Privacy Policy for details on what data is sent to our AI provider and why.

From time to time we may offer features labelled as beta, preview, or experimental. These are provided for evaluation, may change or be withdrawn without notice, and are excluded from any availability expectations that apply to the rest of the Service.

7. YOUR CONTENT

You retain ownership of the tasks, notes, files, and other content you create in Sorty (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service for you. We do not claim ownership of Your Content and do not use it to train third-party AI models beyond what is necessary to provide the feature you requested.

8. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The Sorty name, logo, design, and underlying software are owned by AETRYX LTD or our licensors. Nothing in these Terms grants you rights to our trademarks or branding beyond what is necessary to use the Service as intended.

9. THIRD-PARTY INTEGRATIONS

Sorty may let you connect third-party services (e.g. Spotify, Google Calendar). Your use of those services is subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for the availability or conduct of third-party services.

10. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that AI outputs will be accurate or fit for any particular purpose.

11. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AETRYX LTD shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under UK law (e.g. for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).

12. TERMINATION

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, or discontinue the Service with reasonable notice where reasonably possible.

13. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes (e.g. via email or an in-product notice) before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

14. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections you are entitled to in your country of residence.
